Our Skip Bin Sizes

Skip Bin Size Guide for Every Job

Choosing the right skip bin can be tricky if you’re not sure what size you need or what can go inside. To help make things easier, here are some common questions people ask about our skip bins and hire terms.

How big are your skip bins?

Our skip bins come in two, four, six and eight cubic metre sizes. To give you an idea, a two cubic metre bin holds about eight council-sized wheelie bins or two by four trailer loads. A four cubic metre bin equals 16 wheelie bins, while a six cubic metre bin equals 24.

What size bin should I choose?

The right size depends on your job. As a guide, smaller bins are great for clean-ups and garden waste, while larger bins suit renovations and construction work. For projects with different waste types, using multiple small bins often works best. We’re always happy to help you choose the right option.

Do your skip bins come with doors?

Some of our bins have drop-down doors, which are handy for heavier waste. If you need one, just let us know when booking. We’ll do our best to supply a bin with doors and accommodate any spacing or access requirements on your property.

Is there anything I can’t put in the bins?

Certain items can’t go in skip bins, including asbestos, paint and batteries. Keeping these materials out of our bins ensures waste is disposed of safely and in line with regulations.

How long can I have the bin for?

Most domestic hires run for up to seven days, but we’re flexible. If you need a little extra time, let us know and we’ll usually be able to extend your hire. For long-term or commercial use, we can set up an arrangement that suits your schedule.
